1957 High and Wide farmall cub

I bought this barn fresh "57 high and wide yesterday. It needs a couple of things but runs well. I also found part of a sprayer rig for the cub in the pile of scrap. It's missing the tank and pump but frame is there. This one came out of the oinon fields of pine island NY where the black dirt "muck" farms are. I will probably sell the other high and wide parts I have to offset the cost of the new tractor. I don't know if it's better to sell it as a complete unit or part it out because the front axle and tires are from an original high and wide but the rear rims have been farmerized and the extentions, although well made, are 7" instead of the standard 5".

Hats off to you Kirk. Looks like you found another good one. You see very few of those around here. Just wondering is that a gear on the pto and what would it run? Not sure how you would come out the best on the other one but if I parted it out I would think about keeping the front end in case anything happened to that on bet they would be hard to find.
I would think maybe the sprayer unit since I got the frame. Although it could have been for something else because there is a gear for a planter unit on the right final and a big gear near the outside of the extention at the disc on the left side. So who knows what else was left in the barn off this tractor.

Sure don't see many like that. Good deal. ;)
Haven't seen any down in Ky like that. ;)
Haven't seen one set up like that one either.
Here's a couple of shots with the sprayer frame installed. Might have to shorten it alittle. 26' wide

Ron,
Again I promised not to buy any more tractors after the High & Wide. I couldn't sneak another one home and tarp it fast enough before old eagle eye catches me. Funny thing is I run across stuff all the time. A guy emailed me last night, he wants to sell his 8n with a howard trans for less than what the howard's worth. I would have scooped it up but since I already have a howard and there's no way I could have smuggle it up the driveway so soon after buying the High & Wide I just passed it on to a friend of mine.
I'll have to lay low for a while until things kool off here and I don't mean the weather.

Be careful or you'll really be "laying low"  Maybe you need to build a bigger shop so you can start the buying, fixing and selling business. When she see's some being sold you might get to come back in the house :D
I would consider fixing and selling but I can't seen to get enough time to fix my own projects.

I know the feeling. I'm pretty far behind with mine right now.
Very Cool! Never seen one either!
