This old Chevy was purchased new by my mother in August 1965 from Lamar Allen Chevrolet in Brandenburg, KY. She told me that if I helped her take care of it, she would give the car to me when I became a Sophomore in college.
I got my driver's license in the old Chevy, took my wife out in our first date and later our honeymoon in it, and started my business out of the trunk of the old car in 1974.
In 1972, I bought a Montgomery Ward lifetime guarantee battery for it and ended up getting 10 replacement batteries under the warranty until Montgomery Ward went out of business. My wife calls it the "car that bankrupted Montgomery Ward".
We have a picture of my youngest brother at 6 years old standing by the front fender getting ready to go to his first day of school. Many years later, we drove it down to Baton Rouge, LA and drove him to his graduation from LSU where he earned a Ph.D. in Zoology.
We still have the old Chevy and take it occasionally on old car tours.
