Good Afternoon Everyone. Thanks for letting me join your group!

I inherited a 1973 Ford 2000 and was hoping to get a little advice on an idle issue. When I first got it running I had to leave the choke out to keep it going. Since then i have put in a new carb and it runs without the choke. The new issue is that it intermittently will lose power and almost die then the RPMs come back up before it stalls. I noticed there is a spring on the governor that is loose but i can see where it attaches. I think this might be the problem but not certain. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Aaron

It could also have a fuel starve situation. Disconnect the fuel line from the carb and let it pour iinto a can or glass bottle. After 5 seconds is the flow still the same? If it slowed at all there is the reason the engine is stalling. (it ran out of gas)
