Does anyone have any wiring information for a 35, 3 cylinder diesel.
Just the Starter / Preheat and supply on the back of the start switch and where they go etc.
My manual shows ...
(Blue/White) -> Neutral Switch (White/Red) -> Starter
(Brown/Green) -> Thermostart
(Brown/White) -> Ammeter -> (Brown) -> Starter -> Battery

But my Tractor has Brown, White/Blue, Green/Brown.

I assumed the Brown (Biggest wire) was the same as the Brown/White ... but ... metering it out it makes no sense.
Perhaps the Control Box / Dynamo are affecting my resitance checks.

It was getting late but at least it now has a start switch ready to fit, an exhaust and air filter pre-cleaner so its starting to take shape.

Also when i cleaned the Meter it only has 2000 hrs on it (i mis-read it as 8000) :)

Any information on the above wiring much appreciated.

Thanks JJ.
i will get back out in the daylight this time and meter it out. Looks like the manual i have is for earlier 35's as it shows 2 6-volt batteries.
Are the workshop manuals available as a pdf online?

Well amazingly with a fresh battery, some fuel it started real easy. Ran it breifly, oil pressure looks spot on. now its time to change fluids & look at brakes etc.
I left the Thermostart disconnected as it appears to be dead short.

So some more questions ...

Does anyone know what the thermostart consists of? Is it a valve / heater, just a heater? If its just a heater what controls the fuel feed?
Where does the oil for the hydraulics go & is there a dip stick. I have located the engine oil and gearbox / diff oil dipsticks so far.
Should the Quandrant level operate the 3 point (with the engine running) or do i have to engage the pto?

Thanks in advance.

Jon (very happy its a runner)

Finally got back on the case of the 35...
Its has dual clutch and the hydraulics work (not tested under load yet)
The Dynamo is totally shot (looks like it was running full of mud or water or a combination of both!)
I have located another tractor (ford something) to salvage some bits off, not sure if i will take the dynamo from that or modify the bracket to fit an alternator & convert to negative earth), i will try and get a picture of the ford to identify it, it looks more modern but has a dynamo so i guess its fairly old.
Is there a way of upgrading the 35 to power steering? I have seen some kits that fit externally but how did the 35 supplied with power steering work?
Next is to charge the battery up, change the tyres and then give it a proper run & see what happens :)
