Easiest things first. Check all your tie rod ends for play. See if the large nut on front of the steering box is tight. Check the large nut on the underside of the box to see if it is tight. The interior sector gear can be rotated on its shaft if it is worn, or replaced. A new key can help. At an IH dealer many years ago I asked a mechanic if there would be a problem created if the gear was welded to the shaft inside the steering box. I still remember his words. "We fix alot of them like that."
Wow thanks a lot for the advice! I’ll try it all in the morning. Btw, the steering wheel rotates about180 degrees and nothing moves in the whole front end at all! Needless to say, I only go in 3rd gear low throttle max! Thanks again, Howard
