We picked up our new 140 in 1976,unfortunately we sold the 130 soon after!
The tractors were mainly used for cultivating tobacco
Dad owned the 130 from about 1962 until 1976 and I have been trying to buy it back for the last 25yrs.Same guy has owned it all along!
Dad still has the 140 and it is still a nice original tractor.

Here's me on the 130 applying lime to tobacco ground in 1976 at age 11

The 140's were good little tractors for sure but the 130's and the 100's have my heart. I just like the look and from the super a on if you grew tobacco you couldn't beat them. Started my boys on a 130 and have one question if you get a chance tell me what that seat came from never seen one like it.

Dad had several smaller farms from 30 to 50 acres. The tobacco alottments kept getting bigger and we switched to all tobacco in the early 70's.Dad worked full time and we just couldnt handle any more crops/livestock than the tobacco. We raised around 5 to 8 acres of tobacco.
I quit farming in 2006 and live on a 40 acre farm.

I will ask dad about the seat.I dont remember much about it as I was 14 when dad sold the 130.
I agree with you about the 100/130's.I have never liked the 140 as well as the 130.The lift and steering are not nearly as good on the 140 as they were on the 130.
