Traded several pieces of equipment for this 1953 SC footclutch yesterday.I guess I am a sucker for Eagle Hitch tractors
It smokes and doesnt run exactly right.Wrong mag I wonder if it has a couple wires crossed.Fresh brush paint over dirt and what appears to have been a nice original(darn it!!!!!!!!!).Best set of fenders I have, seems to be a low hr tractor that was kept inside as the tires/steering wheel appear original and in very good condition.Eagle hitch isnt all broke up.

really nice find.
Apart from the paint she is in first class condition, just get the mag right and running right, good find.
Certainly a very nice SC for sure. Does not look hurt at all...you'll have her a purring in no time I'm sure!!
Looks great from here, but I cringe a little every time I see old iron painted without good prep. I could almost even live with a brush job if it had been properly prepped.
My bother and i both have 53 sc built just a fews days apart It was sent straight to mt. Dew coal co in Lexington , the other went to case warehouse for 6 mounths then was shipped to mt. Dew coal co in Lexington . Mine spent it's life on Rickard tobacco seed farm in Winchester .
I have a 1940 LA that was shipped to MT Dew Coal Co.
I will check on this SC and see where it was shipped.
Do your SC's have foot throtlle? This one does not,I have a 54 SC that does.

good thing about that foot clutch it has live pto also on that tractor.
No foot feed on ether one of ours but the book shows it as an option
Good looking tractor Nick I'm glad you got it and from the look of the exhaust manifold and the pedals I belive your right I don't think its been used that much either. Hope you get it lined out pretty easy and if you got some cultivators you can try it out on that corn its looking pretty good to.
Did you get the top link with it? its a tuff one to find.

No,I didnt get the toplink with it.I do have a toplink for it I bought on ebay awhile back.I didnt realize the SC toplinks can be different from the DC's until a friend told me.I had both but I guess I never had them side by side to see the difference.

Do your 53 SC's have sealed beam headlights?
I have a friend with a 53 SC footclutch without sealed beam headlights and he believes it's original.I have an extra set of bulb style headlights and I dont have any extra sealed beam lights.
Nick
No nether of ours have seal beam light but the parts book shows both

Thanks,
That makes 3 1953 SC's I have heard of without sealed beam lights.I cant stand the look of those aftermarket lights!

Looks like a nice tractor. ;) I could never understand why anyone would brush paint a tractor though.
Looks good to me and hey....nothing wrong with picking up thinsg you love:)
Those pedals definately show that it hasn 't done much.Tidy tractor, would have been nice to have kept it original.
