went up to the local auction yard this am.. walked it.. spied some late entries.. noce old cultivator, then when I rounded the corner, a dearborn 10-1 plow complete with landslide and cutters.. in good condition.. had some old oxide primer on it.. looked pretty intact.. tag still on it, semi legible. way better than the one I have already..

about an hour and a half later I was getting it laoded in my truck after the hawkers and the throng of people left that aisle for the next one.

Looks good my friend. Wish I'd had that an hour earlier. Just used my IH Little Genius single bottom trip plow to turn the garden up.
Looks to be quite solid. Should do ya good.
yep, in way better condition than my current 10-1 2 bottom that has NO cutters, and the rolling landslide was home built by me. as it was missing, and I found a small sized round disc blade for a ATV sized disc harrow, that fit it almost perfectly,a nd welded it up to a nut to attach to the hub.. works ok.. but with no sod cutters.. it hates plowing thru anything but turned earth.. this new one has both cutters and a scrape for the landslide. Only paid 205$.. paid 195$ for the other 10-1 years and years ago..
Man that looks ready to go!! Points look great!!

better than the one I'm using now!

Can't touch em around here for under $500 in that condition. Nice score.
ya'know.. last time I was looking at them online, I mentioned I paid 195 years back and was wondering about price and someone else said that good old 2 bottoms were going in the 290-500$ range.

glad I hit the shallow end.

twas a buyers market today.. wish I would have had more time. i wanted a cultivator 2 items down for it.. but wanted the plow worse.. figured I save my $$ for the one I wanted the most. cultivator went cheap.. like 100$ i think. I shoulda got it too.. :)
Maybe you can sell the otherone to Ron after a couple more days with the trip

missing it's coulters and has a farmerized rolling landslide. I'd hate to sell it to anyone like that. it turns over dirt.. but don't work great in soil with sod or weeds.. to mouldboard extensions either.. I don't like pawning off incomplete stuff on people, even though I might use it myself.. :)
Looks like a good one. A half day of plowing should put a nice shine on them. Most of the ones I see up here don't have the the coulter and joiners. I bought my ferguson 2 bottom without them and then was lucky enought to pick them up at an estate sale laying in the tool pile with the pics and shovels.
I'm headed to a farm auction today. kind of hard to figure out the auctions. Last one I went to there was a lot of good stuff going for cheap money but the one before that they were bidding up big money for stuff I thought was crap. I guess it's right place, right time and it looks like you caught it just right.

yep.. this auction, good stuff was going low. I saw a scaffolding set go for 20$ they had a hard time getting the 15$ minimum opening!!!
At the auction yesterday it seemed like everthing was on the low side except for the stuff I was bidding on, outbid all day. A friend of mine did manage to snag a good 8n grill for $1. The guy started the bidding at $5 and could get that for it and just keep going lower and when He hit a dollar my friend jumped in and there were no other bidders.

Kirk
Great buy for $100 a bottom, in such good shape !! ;)
