Burned a brush pile

2288 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Jim in NC
Had a brush pile That I needed to burn, but between the wind and very dry conditions I put it off. Got home from work yesterday and it was wind still and with the rain we got Monday decided to lite the pile. This was all dead pine trees. When I lit it all the dry pine needles lit, almost like an explosion. Needless to say, i was high stepping it away from the fire. Usualy have several rabbits checking my garden each morning, but were not there today. May have solved the rabbit problem when I burned the brush.

I think I have a rabbit messin' with a few of my green beans, but I have no brush pile, just woods. My beans are in trouble.

Time for some stew! :D

Rabbits are over abundant here, but they haven't bothered the garden.....yet.
Between the dogs and my little cat that sits between the rows, and guards the garden.
I've watched rabbits get as close as ten feet from the garden, and her watching them watching her. ;)
I have two fairly good farm and barn cats that are hunters. They need to patrol the garden more I guess. Dallie would chase it ifn she could see it. Maybe it has "BST"?...Bunny Stealth Technology? :!:
