Anybody familiar with the Club Car Kohler engine? Got aknock when it first starts, the quiets down, but when you first try to start it its locked up. Turn the clutch back with a strap wrench, the it will start, but knocks.

I have one, but haven't had to tinker around with it. That doesn't sound very good. Most of those club car engines are darn near bullet proof.

This one was supposedly rebuilt and the hour meter I put on it only has 16 hours on it since my in-laws bought it for my kids. My biggest problem is I dont have the money to dump into a 23 year old cart, that I cant buy parts for anymore. Id love to just drop another engine down in it and be done with it, but theres really nothing I can do that doesnt cost an arm and leg!

a few years ago i bought one with a blown motor so i put secondary drive of skidoo on pinion shaft and put 340 rotax motor from skidoo with electric start in it and 13 inch car tires on back it was a lot of fun just a idea still have it but i blow motor up someday ill get it going again as i have a chain case with reverse in it now
