A co-worker of mine and me got talkin he mentioned his grandpa used to farm with a 55 Massey, of course I asked if he still had.......

I ran the serial number, I forget the year but it is a last year model, it drives but doesn't turn over on the starter, brakes are seized, tins not bad but they cut out the bottom grille bar to do a hydralic repair and fenders have been backed into objects several times, and the rear end oil looked like half melted icecream..... but at 800 bucks I always liked the Massey Harris look and I'm sick of tuning carbs wanting another diesel.

Just never drag race in a Massey 55...you will not win

a guy put a 460 lincon engine in a 55 for tractor pulling a few years ago and he could bet a 350 chev pickup to 60 mph'

A little bit of work I day over 3 day weekend

I am having trouble finding a replacement starter solenoid so trying to look into alternatives at moment, other then going ok. Replace generator with a Delco alt

If you need to replace the starter itself a 30MT starter with a 13 tooth drive bolts right on. That 55 Diesel is a lot more tractor than the 44 by a long shot. Somewhere in my collection of goodies I have all the filter numbers for the diesel as well along with extra filters.

Looks like you got a good running tractor there ......You know if you wanted to get rid of some weight on it you could take the wheel weights off and put a 44std front axle on it with steel center wheels should get you down below 10,000 pound.....just an idea nice video as well------> my Blood is Massey red as well :)
