At some point, somebody had removed and reinstalled the steering arm on my M. However, they indexed it wrong - I could turn tight to the left but barely to the right. Figured that would be a simple fix, just remove and re-index that arm.

I was able to get the arm off the splined, tapered shaft, but I'm having a heck of a time getting it all the way back on. The first attempt ended with a puller and alot of heat to get it back off. It seems to get really tight with about a 1/4 inch to go. I've cleaned up the splines and everything looks good. Is that arm supposed to be that tight? Does it require heat for installation?

I appreciate any help - just getting started on this tractor and I'm sure I'll have some more questions! Looking forward to being a part of this community.
