Hi, my name is smitty and am new to this forum. I live in arizona and have a problem with my 8n tractor. my right front wheel became stuck in the sand and turned sideways while moving and cracked a bearing casing that holds the front axles. my question- does anyone know if the wheels are removed and the axles also-can this casing be welded? if so what is involved? many thanks for any advice- I love this old tractor, the 4 cylinder runs like new! :?: :?:

Hi petra 79:
thanks for the quick reply, i am planning on this project soon as the temps cool just a little. I do plan on changing the bearings and seals. also forgot to mention that the right front guide arm (not sure what its called , one attached to each steering arm) broke into, it is a hollow tube. I have 40 acres in the high desert, mostly hills, mountains and washes. I use my tractor to keep all the roads graded. it has been converted to a 12 volt system and ran great before I crippled it! I know a retired tractor mechanic and will pay him to guide me on this venture. by the way, where do most of you guys get your replacement parts for your older tractors?
thanks, smitty in arizona
