This was the 4th year to have a hay ride and camp out on our farm
this weekend. It was another good turnout with a around 150 or more guests showing up. We did 2 trips around the farm this year with 2 tractors and wagons, The Massey Harris 44 and the Farmall H. Had tons of food, including a 150 pound hog that we cooked for 10 hours in the back yard on a rotisserie using hickory wood. Was a little warmer this year, but nobody seemed to mind. We did go through around 15 cases of drinks and 25 ten pound bags of ice. People started arriving around 3pm Saturday, and our last guests left around 12:00 noon on Sunday. We had 20 people this year to actually camp and spend the night. Got up Sunday morning and cooked a big breakfast on the flat top grill and cooked biscuits in the oven. Had eggs, bacon, sausage, gravy, and Jams and jellies, and coffee, orange juice, and soft drinks for everyone, so around 10am everyone had ate their fill, and from 10:30 to 12, everyone said their "till next times" and trickled on home. My youngest guest was 1 month old, and my oldest guest was 92, so we had a wide variety of ages that showed up.
Everyone seemed to have a great time this year, so, if me and the wife is able, we will do it again next year. :)
