The hay is thin and spindly this year like I didn't fertilize it. It got the same as always.
The weather turned cool and dry 20 days ago and now warm and still no rain.
That's the only reason I can fathom.

Big Allis gettin' it done, and anemic hay field.

I mowed 2 acres near the house today, mainly to make sure equipment is gonna work properly before moving about 4 miles away. Everything worked well. Hay has thick and thin spots, and does not appear to be as heavy as last year. The seed heads are just beginning to pollinate. My Ohio cousin describes it in this stage as "sappy". Because of the thick spots I think it will take an extra day to dry properly. Teddering tomorrow.
