HI thanks all. i would like to keep grandpas tractor like it is. but theres some work that needs to be done to it which cant be done without it being seen. so iam thinking maybe a up grade on the tin and paint. the nice tractor was like that when i bought it. everyone seems to be split on this ? like what came first the chicken or the egg. my ? is what color is the engine red or black. its a 1941 some say before war red.after war black. was the trany the same way. it looks like my grandpa painted the tractor with a paint brush at one point. the engine looks kinda red. the tranny looks kinda light blue. could that be primer. thanks

Wartime tractors had the black engines in them. Not sure if it was from 39 to 45 or from 41 to 45.
