.... can anybody please help her to find somebody to repair/rebuild the engine, we have tried the local dealer and they "can't get the parts"! It was her father's and she is loath to lose it!
If you know the model number of the engine I believe the internet will have plenty of part sellers to choose from. My son-in-law rebuilt a k241s Kohler engine, same as on my early 1970s Wheelhorse. He ordered a complete rebuild kit for around $100 I think.
