Hi all: Brother Don, Pat & I traveled to Ajo, Az. on tuesday to visit with S.C.R.A.P. tractor club members Glen & Gladys Binkley who have wintered there for the past 25 years. On the route (US 85) south Don took (all of these) photos @ a very nice spot along the highway. Glen & Gladys recommended a nice place for lunch & then took us on a tour of this once thriving Copper Mining area. We also visited the church they are involved with when living here, - even the "Gopher" that keeps tearing up the courtyard between church buildings. There is a "solar panel energy field" near where the mining "tailings" were left, - also another larger "Solar Panel Field" was along the route 80 road.
On the way back to Phoenix we turned westward on old US RT. 80 which is not traveled much & took us through the irriaigated farming region & daIry farms along the canel which supply the source of water. In one of the last photos is the mountain named "Saddle".
Wonderful day with cool temps but still pleasent & very nice to have a visit with the Binkley's.
