so I asually mentioned to the wife one day I might want a new rider mower.

mine was (is) a walmart sold murray economy model.. was 700$ ( cheap as you could gwt then.. and had been 750.. but I got it last on the lot near winter.. thus discounted... ). well.. it's 15ys old. been thru numerous blades.. a couple belts. tires are balding but I sealed them with sealer on the inside so they hold air perfect.. has been repainted once. have been thru the ful system.. new hoses.. patched tank.. ne filter.. tune up items. a couple small repairs. deck is showing age.. but works. drives and cuts fine. fornt end bushings are wearing ( about time huh? ) I'm pretty sure brigs and murray never intended these economy jobs to last 15ys.. :)

anyway the wife said.. sure.. you can get a new one when you can no longer fix that one.

UH-OH

given my track record with antique tractors.. I may have this murray an awfully long time.. :)

Do what I did...I'd pretend to work on mine for 2 hours then cut grass for 10 minutes then take it back to the shed like I had to work on it AGAIN for another 2 hours...then cut grass for 10 minutes....then repeat the process

Didn't take too long to get permission to buy a new mower...Sometimes I just HATE myself, just not THAT time !!!   BTW, just after buying a new one, the old one threw a rod and punched a jagged hole in the block the size of a silver dollar !!!!  :?
unfortunately.. my wife works all morning and days as she is a teacher.. I have a couple mornings off.. like friday.. and that's when i do about 4 hrs yardwork.

she never see's anything but the finish product.. cut grass.. weedeat.. trimming..e tc.

she probably thinks elves handle it.. :) kinda like fixing stuff at the house.

it just happens.

dishwasher breaks down.. she comes home the next day and there is another one installed.. :)
COMMUNICATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Maybe ya need to slow up      Oh time will take care of that
