Last Thursday farmer drilled soy beans in the field in front of the house. There has been about 50 Canadian geese in the field every morning since. They were there yesterday evening when I got home from work. Don't know if they leave for very long. Have been trying to get a photo of them, but they don't let me get close enough to get one with my camera. They're not very socialable as the neighbors cats went out to welcome them this morning and they just up and left.

Canada geese were introduced as a game bird in N.Z. they have now become a real problem because of the damage done to pasture & crops.

They are pretty to watch, but nasty to be around and becoming a real pest.

I noticed yesterday that there are a lot of beans laying on top of the ground. Don't know if it was a planter malfunction or the heavy rain we had Monday brought them up.
