Looks great! Never get them that early hereJim in NC said:LOTS of taters. My early ones, planted in February, are almost done. The plants have started to die. There have been very few tater blossoms on the plants this year. Ennyway, it was time for a peak under the plants. What we found is LOTS of taters. It took very little time to dig this bushel. We had some for supper. Very tasty :!:![]()

Did I mention there is nothing better than home fries from fresh taters! or dill taters with fresh dill from the garden too! great job on that bunch and good luck Gary getting yours toobertman said:I dont want too hyjack this post but???
I planted here by good friday (weekend) but now the taters are starting to blossum????? How long will they grow before the plant starts to die off?
You probably have some small ones by now Bert. We planted ours about the third week of Febuary, a little over 3 months ago. A few are still blooming, but they are all ready to be dug. The vines will stay green for a few more weeks, and then will begin to yellow.bertman said:I dont want too hyjack this post but???

Oh goodness....cut them in wedges and bath them in real butter and add as much dill as you want...put them in a tin pan cover them in foil and throw them on the grill....cook them for desired firmness. dash a salt and I could eat the whole thing! :lol:Jim in NC said:Derick, tell me 'bout them dill taters. I have both :!:![]()
No problem Jim....we use a LOT of dill...of course I love dill anytime we use itJim in NC said:Tried the dill taters tonite Derick. I can see why you like them so much. I think we shoulda had more dill for the amount of taters in the pan. We will do them again. Thanks for the suggestion :!:![]()
