Thanks for the help guys. I broke down and bought a crawler over the weekend. Decided Sunday night at 10:00 to drive to Atlanda, GA (6 hours) to see it. Left my house at 1:00 a.m. and drove there non-stop, looked at it, and drove back home all in the same day. I bought a 1980 Fiat-Allis 14C (150 HP, 40,000 lbs, 10' blade) with a removable homemade root rake. 85% undercarriage, nice tight blade, don't leak or use any oil, only thing it could use is a set of grousers (pads). It will be delivered tomorrow afternoon. I already have a $4,000 job it has to be on this weekend. So, I will be hustling to service it and put it to work immediately. Hope it runs good. Then, we will be taking to our farm to do some clearing.

Here are some pics. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2695

Hi Ian,
Nice find - do not see many BTD8s around here in Qld.
Did a reseal on my D4 fuel lift pump today. Found that the tell-tale leakage pipe had been crimped off with a pair of pliers so instead of leaking fuel out, it was being pumped into the engine. The insides of the engine are nice and clean now after being flushed with diesel!

Don't you just love it when you buy these Cockies specials ..Fencing pliers or wire can take care of any problem ,Untill you can palm it off some where else .
Talking about fencing wire, split pins on the shackle pins fitted to the equalising spring have been replaced with the cockies favourite too. (#9 fencing wire)
Hello: i really like the brush bar on that cable 6. IT looks very stoutly made. I figure also it would be ideal for busting brush in sandy soil as sand pulled up with the brush would have plenty of places to filter back to the ground. Great looking workhorse.
Good to see you back up Ian. Hope you did not have too many problems with the floods. OK down in our area of the northern Downs - a bit water logged but OK and plenty of grass around now. Some interesting Cats advertised in TOMM for sale including Best 30, Cat 2 Ton, 15, 20, 30, & 60 down the road from us at Hellidon.

Regards,
John
Hey John, I see you are on the downs. Keep safe with the floods. Maybe I will meet you at the Auction at Clancys in Toowoomba next month? I am flying up from Tasmania. There is a little continental crawler going up you might like if you are into crawlers!

Looks like someone's getting a decent old crawler.
Looking forward to seeing the Super 90.
I like the photo with the bird passing by. ;)
Educate me on why the top is made to be a bit flexible.
Got Better eyes than me Dave ,Had to have a good look before i spotted the bird  .
The wire rope at the bottom gives some movement ,Lot of Canopys i have seen with out it break because of the vibration and stress.
WoW crawlers everywhere. I dont have any pictures to add. That TD6? loader is for sale near me. ( Its my Uncles and has been worked hard). Also talked to my neighbor he has a little Case dozer that he let set out and said the motor is froze up. That's a shame! I got it running one summer, 10 years ago, after his dairy barn burned and he used the dozer to push some of the debris. I would like to have it, its just a cute little gas job.
By the way very nice pictures of the crawlers from around the world!
Regards,
Chris

Those 3 cyl. GMs have a sound all their own. Does it run as good as it looks ?
Are these GM engines close to the same engine used by Oliver???

This model ,should have the same as the Chamberlain ,a 3 cylinder .http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LA5Zxnd7PNM
