My first RMS on this type engine. Retainer, 2 pcs. rope seals and gasket arrive. Repair manual states, in capitals, ..."work the seals into the retainer grooves and leave .010-.020 excess above the surface". I worked those 2 seals into the grooves to the point where I couldn't imagine that they could not be seated in that damn groove. Now, protuding out of the grooves of each half of the retainer are like about 3/16"! I think I have to do some trimming. What do you think?
