Hi, I need to rebuild my power steering pump but I don't know what kind of pump it is or what rebuild kit to get. It's a massey ferguson 65 with gas engine 176 cont. I learned they have two types a Barnes and a Cessna pump which look the same to me. Any help would be great.

Just a guess but the serial number of your tractor could tell you which one you have. Or maybe the diesels and gassers had different pumps. Do you have a dealer nearby?

Thanks Jim I don't have a dealer near me and the info I've found is from old manuals on the web. The plate on the back of the pump should have a name on it..mine is gone or too faint.

Removing a couple of layers of paint may reveal your pump information.
From what I found the Barnes pumps were used with Perkins engines and Cessna with the Continental.
This page also shows the serial number break.
