Yesterday I was looking for small cedar trees to transplant in a field of prairie grass. Field is full of a size cedar trees. I'm looking for 6"-12" trees. Kind of hard to see in the grass.
Grass exploded about 3' in front of me. About 12 deer were laying in the grass and when I got too close they all jumped up and ran off.
Good news is,
1) I didn't have an accident and have to change pants :D
2) I didn't have a heart attack, ( almost but not quite) ;)
3) When I was transplanting the trees, Ground was wet 24" down. :D Very glad to see that.
I did aim my spade handle at the deer, but missed.

Good to hear that you have moisture deep into the soil after last year's drought. ;)
