I am needing some work done on my 1954 John Deere 60. I would like to have the engine overhauled. The tractor is located in northeast Oklahoma. Does anyone know of anyone who works on these old two-cylinders in this area? Any help would be much appreciated.
Well not exactly. I am located in Des Moines, IA and currently live in town. I dont have enough room right now to have a tractor torn apart (wife says I can't have her stall) lol. My tractor is located in Wyandotte, OK on my folk's ranch. I dont get down there but 2 or 3 times a year. Well see how it turns out, I may end doing it myself.
Just the tear down of the top end only took me a few hours. I only did a head rebuild as I still had plenty of compression. Then it was only a matter of getting the manifold and the head to the machine shop (took the most time).
