Repacing the seals in my breakaway coupler (on a JD 1030). In the body of the coupler, there are seals for the receptacle. Each one used to be a two piece seal, now a one piece seal (part number R79311). It is a "U" shaped seal (cross secion on edge). The more prominent "lip" is on the split side, i.e., larger diameter than on the solid side. Which one goes towards the pressure? I am fairly sure it should the prominent lip side to pressure, but want to make sure (and JD is closed today until Monday so cannot ask them).

Usually the solid side is on the low pressure side or the side that oil is not to be. The idea is that if there is any pressure it will make the seal expand from the pressure increasing the seal factor.
