For me, it saves time, fuel, and wear and tear on equipment. Most anything can be used, I used channel iron. I have seen wooden timbers or poles and pipe used.

Very nice, Jim! That's a great idea, and I've seen some folks do similar things up here like that. Would literally almost cut your fuel in half too.. that's working smarter! (And if that can be moved by one person, not harder! :D )

Yessir Jim, we'd drag a 12' telephone pole behind our ten foot drag disc and toss it on top to transport the disc from field to field. (Uncrimped, of course). When I was a little fellow, dad would use a MH 44 on the ten footer and on occasion when the semi-mounted sickle bar mower wasn't on the MH 101 Super, I'd get to use the 6' disc with it. Talk about ten foot tall and bullet proof !!! I still have the 101 Super in the shed today.
