Hello! So I have purchased a Farmall A yesterday (I believe its a 45) and it smokes like a broken stove, but only after it has ran for a minute or two. Is that just the rings going bad or the valves? Whatever it is I'm going to fix it this fall but I don't know what's causing it to smoke.

Do a compression test. Do a dry test followed by a wet test. If the compression goes up with a wet test it is rings. The Farmall A is not a hard (or real expensive) tractor to rebuild. You could start with rebuilding the head to see if that helps but the compression test will give you a clue.
