changing my MT over to 12v from 6v do I have to change the starter to a 12v starter and if so who has a 12v starter for MT tric

No sir the present starter will be fine. Change the coil to a 12 volt one with an internal resistor or put a ballast resistor in the hot wire just ahead of its 6 volt coil. Change everything from positive to negative ground. I expect you will have to start the tractor with its throttle opened up more that with a 6 volt system. The starter will spin the engine faster than it idles when converted.

Ok I was just wondering because I read that when you change over to a 12v system that you have a chance to crack the nose cone of the starter

I've never converted a Deere but have changed several Farmalls and an Allis C with no problems. The oldest conversion, a Farmall 140, is at least 30 years old and still has the same starter on it.
