Tecumseh HH 120 cylinder head problems

848 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  oldjohnny
I have a Sears Suburban SS 12 lawn tractor with a Tecumseh HH 120 that keeps blowing the cylinder head gasket. Is there any place where I could get new/good used head bolts (I'm thinking hardware store but where would I get TWO 2 1/4 inch grade 8 bolts??? I can't find any!!!), and maybe a head? I'm thinking either warped head or stretched bolts. Also, would I need to replace those special belleville washers?

Small engine shop? Hardware store other than the big box home and yardening stores?
As old as they are it wouldn't hurt to get new ones if available. Back to small engine shop.
May be able to find what's needed from a shop that sells on line. They usually have parts diagrams of engines.
Just do a google search " parts for Tecumseh HH 120 engine" and see what pops up. At least maybe find part numbers to take to the small engine shop.

If you haven't found your bolts yet, they are available at Fastenal.com and at McMaster.com. I don't know if Fastenal will sell by the piece or not. At McMaster, you have to buy package quantity.
