I have a 203 Workbull with the Perkins AD3-152 diesel that has transmission trouble. After getting the price estimate on parts alone, it would be far more cost effective to scrap this transmission and get a complete, used replacement. Mine is a 3spd. with high and low (6spd) and shuttle shift. I don't care about the shuttle option so that's not an issue. I've been comparing the MF35 trans with mine and they sure look interchangeable but I can't be sure without actually seeing one. So, if anyone has any thoughts on this swap, I would like to hear from you. You might just save an old tractor from the scrapyard!

Here's my 203 minus it's MF222 hoe. Can I just eliminate all the shuttle parts and just have it as a 6spd w/high and low?

is the shuttle in the front of the trans or the rear .
on the top pic is the shuttle the leaver by the brake pedals ?

The shuttle is a rather simple option. It's a sliding collar on the input shaft of the tranny that engages either forward or reverse. It's operated by linkage to a lever up close to the steering wheel. The lever you refer to is the left pitman arm. How much grinding do you get when shifting into 1st or reverse while still?

these trans are no syncro , they will grind .
but they are a bear if the clutch is oil soaked . they dont realise they hange up.
there not to bad if you shove it down and wieght a bit .
and if you are stopped to move it from forword and back it should not grind .
