Is it a good idea to use lockwashers under the nuts for the manifold studs? I don't recall there being any there on disassemble, but then who knows how many times its been aprt since 1938!

Thanks

With cars on the exhaust manifolds, I use thick flat washers so the nuts will move easily when tightening them down. I stay away from the locking washers, because they seem to tear up the manifold when trying to remove the nut. With heat and rust adding to getting the nuts off, I don't like the thought of a locking washer.

Just what I'm use to.
