Had to use it today to drag a tree i had just cut down. Made it to my destination. It started makin a loud squeek from the front next thing i knew think white/grey smoke was pouring out from near the radiator. Come to find out the fan bearing jammed and the belt was slipping and burning. I probably should have replaced this when i was in the process of restoration, but i neglected to do so! It is jammed solid. I had to loosen it up and remove the belt to get it drove back to the shed. I'm just glad i found this out now instead of at a show or parade. My luck usually isn't this good! Where is a good place to pick up a new fan assembly?

Re: Run into a small problem with the Super C today

Steiners and bates corp both show one for the C, bates does say super c. but they are the same I believe. You may have to bend the blades alittle to stop them from hitting the water pump, if yours has one.(It should unless its an early one)

Re: Run into a small problem with the Super C today

This is what i am seeing as well, i think they are different! I always did go to case/IH website and pull up the parts diagrams for both and compare no.s to see what is the same unfortunately in the past month or so they have removed them for tractors this old from their list.

They are there, just have to search differently. Dont recall how at the moment. Edit: I take that back! its not working like it was a couple of weeks ago, so they must have messed it up again! Messicks still has theirs working.

I will say that I am pretty sure that the aftermarket unit will work, just have to bend the blades a little. OF course my info is about 13 or 14 years old now, so maybe they have changed them since.

Re: Run into a small problem with the Super C today

I have used Messicks before and purchased items from them before! I couldn't find the Super C diagrams from them either like they use to have. They just don't come up! I am thinking on the stuck fan i am going to tear it apart and see how its made inside. Its likely something i'm not gonna be able to fix, but still i want to know! Thanks for the info!
