One row peanut digger? Looks like the blade digs the peas and the star shaped things bounce the vines to knock the dirt off then they lay down on top of the row to be picked up by the picker. It also could be a one row potato digger that is missing the chain. The star shapes would drive a horizontal chain and bounce the taters to knock off the dirt and deposit them on top of the ground.
Definitely a peanut digger. Just came across one just like it for sale in Virginia. The scoop digs the peanuts and the vines bounce along getting the dirt off them but leaving the peanuts. The vines dry on top of the ground and then the combine picks them up and shakes the nuts off.
