I can't answer your question because I have no experiencence with a tractor like yours, but for certain I can say that an owner's manual and service manual would be very helpful and provide many answers for you as you use and care for your tractor.

Is this the power steering pump? Or what it's a little low don't know what to add looks like oil kinda. Early 80s I believe case 480 ll.
It's directly under the alternator. A little behind. It's gear driven
