I inherited a 1940’s International Farmall A and don’t know what type of oil to use. Also, what grade gasoline should I run in it? Thanks for any help!!

Low ash oil is recommended, better for valves and keeps sludge to a minimum. I like 30 weight oil best. I just run regular gas unless I will run it hard. I really like no ethanol gas for equipment seldom used....James

James' suggestions are sound. I have used 10w40 or 15w40 mostly in my gas tractors, two which are Super As, and a 140, and Farmall H. I run the 87 octane gas containing ten percent ethanol. That has worked well for me. Its a personal choice.

Thanks, Jim, I’m mainly using it to blade light snow on my rural driveway in central Alberta, Canada. Grateful for a heated shop to keep it in. Got a lot of work ahead of me!
